WE LOVE REAL TEQUILA!
We love tequila that is really good, too. Luckily, we have both here.
This beautiful blanco tequila from Tequila Mi Casa is made with three ingredients and three ingredients only. The agave comes from a single estate in Michoacán, the Rodriguez family land, where they’ve been growing Blue Weber since around 2000. They were the first to make tequila with 100% Michoacán agave, and they remain one of only a few.
This wonderful elixir was distilled 12 years ago and rested in stainless steel tanks for 10 years at 54.5% ABV, then it was adjusted to 45.5% ABV and spent another 2 years in bottle. In that time it has grown up, mastered the art of relaxation, and probably even earned a PhD in chemistry.

Pelacañas is made at Hacienda el Carmen. This 450 year old structure was founded in 1574 by Las Carmelitas, a female order of the Roman Catholic Church. Hacienda el Carmen has a long history of women leadership, restored to its glory by Monica and Gabriella Baeza to a historic hotel and spa, HeC is now embarking on its next journey with Ron Pelecañas. The Llamarada flower blooms with its flames every year and is one of the symbols that embody Hacienda el Carmen.
We highly encourage you to visit if you’re ever in or near Guadalajara or Tequila, as it’s less than an hour from both.

There is a history of more than 300 years of sugar cane farming in the Ahualulco Valley. It is here, in the shadow of Volcan de Tequila, that the three types of sugarcane used to make Pelacañas grow - La Milagrosa, La Morada, and La Colmex.
Overseeing that sugarcane is Jesús Noriega Rodriguez. He is responsible for running the field operations for Hacienda el Carmen. He’s Mónica’s right hand and holds a crucial part in the making of Pelacañas.

Mónica Baeza started this new project as a tribute to her mother, Martha. It was Martha who changed the course of family dynamics in a way that empowered all the children equally. The result was life changing for Mónica, giving her a path forward that she has forever been grateful for. She transformed Hacienda el Carmen from an antique landmark to luxury hotel and spa. Now, she has taken their family history of farming sugar cane and started a new adventure – distilling ron agrícola!
Mónica created Pelacañas so that she can pass on this legacy to her daughters as her mother had passed it on to her. Gaby and Moní carry the same humble honor as they embark on this family business together. With respect for the land and those who work it, they continue to support each other, the community, and the family of Hacienda el Carmen.

The second expression from Pelacañas is Blanco at still strength. This will usually be bottled between 53% and 56% ABV.
Llamarada is the name of a flower that can be found blooming in the late fall at Hacienda el Carmen. Seen on the label next to the butterflies, its name also translates to ‘flare’ or ‘blaze’ making it a perfect way to describe this uncut, fresh sugar cane rum.
